Siksika Public Safety was established to provide a coordinated effort to provide for the day to day safety , security, and just treatment for Siksika Nation members, staff, and visitors. Public Safety oversees the service areas of Justice, Aiskapimohkiiks, Peace Officers, Security Services, Animal Services, and Emergency Management.
The safety of Nation members, Nation staff, and Nation infrastructure is paramount, and is the priority and mandate for Siksika Nation Public Safety.
Public Safety focusses on programs and services that address matters that contribute to public disorder and unsafe activities on the Nation.
Public Safety works directly with the Public Safety Task Force to ensure a comprehensive and collaborative effort to mitigate public safety matters in the interest of the people and their needs.
Siksika Justice provides both social justice and court justice services for Siksika Nation members. Our Court Workers assist Nation members navigate through the court systems. Our Aiskapimohkiiks program works with Nation members to resolve conflicts through mediation and arbitration.
Siksika Protective Services serves as law enforcement for the Nation's laws, and endeavors to improve community safety and the welfare of the Nation's people through education and accountability.
Siksika Animal Services works to create a safe community for community members and their pets. Siksika Animal Services
endeavors to improve community safety and the welfare of the Nation's animals.
The purpose of Siksika Emergency Management is to prepare the Siksika Nation for future emergencies and disaster events that focus on saving lives, protecting Siksika culture, minimizing negative impacts on the environment, and minimize property damage, ultimately so that Siksika nation can recover as a resilient community.
